CloudCanvas – A Free HTML5 Image Editing Suite

CloudCanvas enables creative people to make digital art, design and other rich media right in the web browser. Without the need of any plugin. The best thing I liked about the startup is that it can take images from Google Images and Devianart as imported files. It has capabities which are comparable to photoshop and illustrator.

With more than 500 fonts that are ready to use and saving formats like PNG & SVG this suite is quite promising with the first looks.

It also supports HTML5 and doesn’t run on flash, also its been already optimized to work on an iPad for the touch drawing and illustrating works which makes the image editing much more easy and fun.

The program is incredibly new, and full of bugs. Text entry is utterly broken. There are issues with object selection not giving feedback to users when objects have been selected. Inserting items from the clip art library sometimes fails silently and gives no message. Most errors break the program until it is terminated and restarted once they have been encountered.

There also aren’t anything like “300 fonts” in this thing. Try a dozen. The code in this thing is barely dry, and I’m going to change my Google Docs password now that I’ve tested it.
