7. The restaurant on top of the Space Needle (called the Eye of the Needle), sat on a giant, doughnut-shaped track and turntable. A makeshift platform with table and chairs was placed on the 94.5-foot-diameter ring, and a waitress/model served coffee to the architect, designer, and other dignitaries. With its one-horsepower motor, the turntable made one complete rotation in an hour.

1. Thomas and Anneka Geary paid professional photographers Ian McCloskey and Nikki Carter of Westgate Photography £750 to cover what should have been the best day of their lives. But they were stunned when the pictures arrived and they were out of focus and dreadfully composed.

2. Retail advisor Lucy, 27, said: "It was an utter shambles. Just about every shot was wrong - there were pictures of the back of people's heads and blurred images of me and Tom."

3. "Even the pictures of us walking into the reception are blurred and all you can see in most are the back of people's heads," said Lucy.

4. One snap of the couple signing the marriage register also appears to feature a ghostly hand clutching a toy motorbike where Anneka's three-year-old nephew Harry was standing in the background.

5. Lucy said: "In another picture the photographers took us outside for a picture with the hotel in the background but we were out of focus and we were miles apart from each other."

6. Tom, 32, a firefighter for Warwickshire Fire Service, said: "We received a CD from the wedding photographers but at first we thought it was a joke. Just about all of the pictures were out of focus or badly lit or just plain weird. "

7. "The group shots were probably the worst because almost everyone was looking in the wrong direction and there were no pictures of my parents."

8. Tom says: "All we wanted was one picture to put in a frame of our wedding day but there is not a single one we can use."

9. The pictures of the evening do, which hosted 120 guests, were taken without flash because one of the photographers complained about being epileptic.

10. The couple got married at Dunchurch Park Hotel near Rugby, on August 14 last year. They forked out £14,000 on the wedding ceremony and a reception for 120 guests. But their big day was ruined when they received the wedding photographs a month later.

11. The couple, from Warwick, demanded a full refund for the "nightmare" wedding album but received less than half after the firm, Westgate Photography, went bust.

12. "When we first met the photographers they said they were engaged - I just hope their own wedding photographer does a better job than they did for us," says Tom.

13. Wedding photographer Ian McCloskey said the firm had gone bust and he and fiancee Nikki had been forced to sell their cameras to pay off a string of disgruntled customers. He admitted the pictures of Tom and Anneka's wedding were "pretty awful".

14. He said: "They were the first couple we had a complaint from. If I could have paid all the money back I would've. They weren't happy with the images and neither were we. We did all we could to try and make it right."

1. Liverpool will come to a standstill this weekend as it is taken over by giant puppets for a street theatre production inspired by the Titanic. Sea Odyssey Giant Spectacular has been produced by marionette experts Royal De Luxe (RDL) and will tell a love story based around the sinking of the famous liner 100 years ago.

2. The giant puppets are expected to attract thousands of spectators as they make its way through Liverpool over the next three days. The free performances will unfold over the weekend, with the city's urban areas becoming the stage.

3. It is the final event to use European legacy funding from the Liverpool capital of culture year in 2008. It is also part of its commemorations for the recent 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. The liner was registered in Liverpool, making the city its home port.

4. Officials say it is the most complex event the city has staged and has involved hundreds of people in its planning and execution.

5. Jean-Luc Courcoult, artistic director of RDL, has created the Sea Odyssey story specifically for this event. He said: "Liverpool, for me, stands out as an island in its own right, within a larger island. Passions for football, the revolutionary music and poetry of the Beatles and the legendary story of the Titanic give the city a strong, emblematic identity and the people a compelling warmth which draws me to them."
